SD Athletes Compete Well in Brooks PR Invitational

Tony Smoragiewicz of Rapid City Central finishes 5th at the Brooks PR Invitational 2-Mile run with a time of 9:04.  Bismarck Junior, Jake Leingang, ran 8:59.66 to finish 2nd. The state 3200m record is 8:56 by Erik Grumstrup of Rapid City Stevens so Tony will have a very good chance at setting that record in the spring.  Also competing was Alex Waddell of Sioux Falls Washington who finished 12th in the 800 with a time of 1:58.  Alex is the premier middle distance runner in the state with first place finish in the 400m and a runner up at 800m in last years state meet.
